Webinar Software Compared: Live Platforms and What Happens After
Choosing live webinar software usually comes down to audience size, how the presenter's studio looks, and whether you also want to replay the event later. What most comparisons skip is the part that decides whether the webinar was worth running: what happens to the people who registered. This page covers the main live platforms with their published prices, then that second part. Pocket Leadz publishes it, and Pocket Leadz does not run live webinars, so it appears here only where it fits: after the event.
The main live webinar platforms
- Zoom Webinars is the familiar choice for large audiences, with plans from 500 attendees and CRM connections to HubSpot and Salesforce. Webinars Plus can pre-record content and run it as if live.
- WebinarJam is built for marketing webinars, with attendee limits from 100 to 5,000 by plan, automatic replays for 24 hours, 72 hours or longer, and post-webinar emails filtered by who attended or bought.
- GoTo Webinar offers plans for up to 500, 1,000 and 3,000 participants, and its Elevate plan can run recordings as live events.
- Livestorm runs in the browser and now prices per attendee, with replay and on-demand viewers counted as attendees.
- Demio covers live events on every plan and automated events from its Growth plan.
- Riverside and StreamYard are recording and streaming studios that now sell webinar plans, a good fit if production quality matters most.
What happens to the people who registered
Most live platforms send reminders before the event and emails after it, and hand registrants to your email tool or CRM. WebinarJam, for example, sends one text reminder before the start through your own Twilio account, and its follow up after the webinar is by email. That works for an audience you want to educate. It is thinner for a webinar meant to create enquiries, where the people who did not turn up, or watched and did not book, are the ones worth a call.
That is where Pocket Leadz fits. Record the live webinar, put the recording on a Pocket Leadz replay page, and choose whether the people who sign up land as subscribers or as leads on your pipeline board. Leads are given to a rep and followed up by text, email and call tasks until they reply or book, with a booking calendar under the video from the minute you choose. Our webinar replay software guide explains the subscriber or lead choice in full.

How to choose
- Start with how many people you expect live, and how long you present. Attendee caps and session lengths vary by plan.
- Decide whether you will replay the webinar, and whether replay viewers cost extra on that platform.
- Check where registrants go and who follows them up, by email and by text.
- Check whether the follow up stops when someone books, so nobody is chased after saying yes.
